Step 1: Do the Self Analysis
Recognize your strength and weakness
Try to identify your interests and skills. Recognize your talent, adaptability and other interpersonal skills to accordingly choose right job role for yourself.
A range of jobs and experience will give you a clearer idea of what you like or don't like; or what you find interesting, meaningful or challenging.
Step 2: Inspire yourself
Go through success stories in that career line and try to define your own new story. Try to follow how they define strategies to win the game and learn from their mistakes. But never try to copy and paste. Every hero has its own success story.
Step 3: Take your decision
Do not allow anybody’s suggestions and perceptions to rule over your career decision until it matches with your picture of successful and satisfying career. It’s your career after all; you spend major section of your life to build it. You can’t blame anyone at the end of the day for giving you guidance and suggestion which doesn’t satisfy your ambitions.
Always try to achieve your happiness and dreams with your career goals. Don’t waste your time and efforts in serving wrong job just for the sake of salary and hoping to get good position in the organization.
